Extracted: A Game of Deception

It’s time to find out how those survivalists are doing up in northern Ontario, all alone in the Canadian wilderness. With nothing but what their families are able to get them, and/or their own camping skills (or lack of) to get them through. Do they have fire or food? Do they have shelter? Have their families back in HQ screwed them over or have they made their survival easier?

Let’s find out, shall we?

This post contains spoilers for episode two of Extracted titled, “A Game of Deception”! If you don’t want to know, please stop reading now!

Extracted: Alone In The Wild

I’m not sure how many of you watch Fox’s Extracted, but I figured since there’s only one episode per week of The Traitors US. The Traitors UK has now ended. There’s no Bachelor. And nothing until Survivor 50 and House of Villains, which don’t begin until the end of February. So, I figured I’d recap Extracted in the meantime. This is the recap for the first episode of the second season!

This show casts a lot of unknowns or “civilians”, but there are a few familiar faces this season, like THE Sandra Diaz-Twine who won Survivor twice and her daughter Nina Twine. Nina was on Survivor AU and Anonymous. As well as BB21s and The Challenge’s Analyse Talavera.

Filmed up in northern Ontario, Canada, families in HQ help their loved ones survive in the wilderness. The survivalist may or may not have any experience with surviving in the wild. Using strategic means, the family back at HQ provides survival tools that arrive in supply drops and help them in survival trials. The families are able to watch their loved ones on live feeds 24/7. (I’d be a natural at this.) They can even track their health. Alliances are formed. Families get screwed. The first season got very cutthroat, IMO.

They’re playing for $250,000! If their loved ones suffer too much, the family members in HQ and/or the survivalists can ask to be extracted and the family at HQ pushes the extraction button. But that also means they’re out of the game and lose their chance at winning the quarter of a million dollars.

Does that sound interesting to you? It did to me, so I hope you at least like my recaps.

Let’s get this season started! As usual, I speak in spoiler font, so if you haven’t watched and/or don’t want to know, look away now!
