Extracted: Last One Standing

Hello everyone! The time has finally come! It’s the finale of season two of Extracted! It was a great season overall…and if you haven’t watched this show yet…what in the h-e-double-hockey-sticks are you doing? We had family feuding. Bears entered camps without invitations. The players were battling Mother Nature as much as each other! The families were planting fake clues and were messy! And we had the Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine this season! It’s must see tv!

Anyways, time to find out who was the last survivalist standing—therefore winning a $250,000 dollars!

As usual…if you haven’t watched the episode yet and don’t want to know…don’t look below! I will be spoiling the episode and the winner!

The episode begins with a brief recap of the season, and the last few extractions. We’re down to Polly, Rhoman and RJ. They’re each alone on an island and will remain there until the end of the game.

Pretty great shelter for not having any tools.

Rhoman already has his shelter built. RJ is tired, and doesn’t feel like exhausting himself in order to build a shelter, even though he knows he should.

This sun is nice, but I’m still cold.

Polly is cold. She’s still exhausted from the long swim out to her island. She doesn’t know if she should tough it out for one more night. She’s proud of the fact she’s the last woman standing. “Cancer leaves scars, but you can use those scars to come back better than you were before,” she says. She thinks she’s proved that. She thinks that’s enough. She doesn’t have anything else to prove. She’s happy. She asks to be extracted. Her family wishes she could be there until the very last day, but it’s her time. Bailey says she’s the coolest aunt ever. Sorry Tanisha! 🤣 Tanisha laughingly agrees with Bailey.

Two families remain. Rhoman’s and RJ’s. Both families celebrate. Look at how far they’ve come! Later on production informs the survivalists. Rhoman is incredulous. He’s excited about the $250,000. “They are so close, bro. Of course it’s RJ, bro. That dude is huge.” 🤣 RJ says he’s thinking about thousands of kids’ lives he’d like to change. That’s what Reynolds Ranch is about. To change their future trajectory.

After they go to bed, Lyndsey and Dallas decide to use the time out card during the next supply drop.

The next day there’s a supply drop. They have the opportunity to help their survivalist by using the three tenants of survival; shelter, food and fire. They can use natural resources to create a shelter. Use raw wood to carve them a hand reel for fishing for food. If you can start a fire with a bow drill, you can send a water bottle and a bow drill. They can only work at one station at a time. They have an hour to complete this mission. If they’re unable to complete it in that time, their survivalist will not receive any supplies.

Before the task begins, Dallas and Lyndsey play their time out card. RJ’s family will be put into a time out and sent to their living quarters for four hours. Essentially, they will not be taking part in this supply drop and RJ will not be receiving any supplies.

After Tanisha and Makala leave to serve their time out, Dallas and Lyndsey choose to begin with the hardest; bow drill. They go outside to try to start a fire out on the patio. Tanisha and Makala are able to watch by looking out the window. Time whines down, Dallas and Lyndsey were unable to get a fire going, even after switching spots. They’re upset because it was all for nothing. Neither survivalist will receive supplies.

In HQ, Makala and Lyndsey are looking for ways for their sons to receive water, without parasites in it. And if they can’t find it, what parasites are in the water and what will they do to a person? Lyndsey is very stressed because Rhoman is thinking about the best way to drink lake water. 😬

They’re told there will be an another supply drop the next day. This time they can send them a letter in a crate with the last supplies the survivalists will receive in the competition. They’re told this the day before, so they have time to write the letter.

Tanisha and Makala look through books on survival in order to give RJ suggestions on what he can do to survive. Lyndsey and Dallas wonder what they’re doing and should they be doing something similar too?

The next day when the supply drop task begins, they’re told the supplies will include; one single match, a knife, a can of peaches and a pouch of emergency water. The catch is: the family members have to come up with a five digit lock combination they think their family member will guess. If the survivalists open the combination lock within fifteen minutes, they will receive the items.

Makala and Tanisha come up with an old address number (1748) and RJ’s favourite number…4, so 17484. Lyndsey and Dallas come up with 615, because Grandpa Jerry used to yell it out loud often. But since it’s only three digits, they add two zeros to make it five digits. The problem is; Dallas thinks they should put the zeros in front of the 615 like this, 00615, while Lyndsey thinks it should go after like this, 61500. They decide to use Lyndsey’s idea.

When RJ and Rhoman receive the crates, they’re told if they can’t open their crates, they will have to return them. He guesses his former address right away, but can’t figure out the last digit is his fave number. He eventually goes through numerical order, starting at one. 🤭

Rhoman knows right away his lock combination is six-fifteen. Rhoman guesses Dallas’ combination first, because most people put zeros in the front of a three digit number, instead of behind. Lyndsey is worried he won’t figure it out. She’s kicking herself for not listening to Dallas. I mean…Lyndsey isn’t the brightest bulb on the tree. She’s proven that over and over again, but you have to love her spunk and how much she loves her sons. He eventually guesses the right combo though.

Both survivalists open their crates in time and receive their last supplies of the competition and their letters! Get your tissues handy because this segment is very emotional. I cried.

They read their letters. Rhoman gets a touching and inspiring message from Dallas, which makes Lyndsey proud that her boys are getting closer together. RJ reads how proud of him, Makala and Tanisha are. He doesn’t hear it enough and it really matters to him. Makala and Tanisha weren’t raised that way but realize RJ needs to hear it. They’re going to try to change and tell him how they feel more.

RJ eats his can of peaches and cuts slits into the can to use it to catch fish. He also fixes up his shelter by placing logs down and using moss, to keep himself up off the ground. Two things his mom and aunt had told him in his letter.

Rhoman wants to wait to eat his peaches and light a fire, but he’s so thirsty, he ends up drinking his emergency water. This really worries Lyndsey. She sees how well RJ is doing and doesn’t think Rhoman will last. Dallas thinks Rhoman will, she just has to give him time. Lyndsey lets her worries get the best of her, so she decides to extract him. Dallas reluctantly agrees.

When Rhoman receives the news he’s been extracted, he’s like what? You can tell he’s disappointed and thinks he could’ve lasted. He’s reunited with his family. Dallas tells him how proud of him he is. That’s all Rhoman ever wanted…to be closer to his brother. Aww 🥰 Damn them, they made me cry again!

Tanisha and Makala celebrate RJ’s win! Now they get to break the news to him in person! RJ hears a boat arrive. He’s surprised to see his mom and aunt there. HE WON!! 🏆 They hug each other and a red crate arrives with the money.

I hope those kids who attend RJ’s ranch appreciate it. RJ fought through the cold, uncomfortable Canadian wilderness and starved—in order to make his ranch happen! Congratulations to RJ, Makala and Tanisha! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Karma really does come through!

I really enjoyed this season! It had it all! They’re already casting for next season—so, if you’re interested apply here! I hope to see you next season! Unfortunately, I checked and Canadians can’t compete. 😭😭😭
