Greetings everyone! It’s time for my recap of another episode of Extracted on FOX! Sorry for the delay, but I’ve been busy. This is the penultimate episode of season two! Next week will be the finale! This episode is titled, “Banishment”.
Last week, we were left wondering what was going to happen with that fake clue Daniel and David had set up for Rhoman and his family. It looked like Lyndsey and Dallas bought it faster than Rhoman could catch a fish (hook, line and sinker).
As usual, if you haven’t watched the episode yet and don’t want to be spoiled…don’t look below!

The episode begins with a recap of last week. Rhoman had left his crate by the shoreline—like the “clue” had told him. He hoped his family didn’t fall for any trick.

Luke’s brothers are like:
The survival trial was hard on RJ—especially since he didn’t get anything. He doesn’t want them to push the button, but he doesn’t think he can move either. That’s so relatable to me. His body is in a lot of pain. He gives a little bit of backstory about being different and liking the outdoors, unlike other kids. He tells us what he’d do with the money. He’d set up a ranch for kids who are different like he is. He wants them to have an opportunity to explore and grow. He eventually goes back into beast mode, gets up and heads back to camp. He’s not giving up.
Doug can’t get the bears out of his mind. Waking up to find one so close to him, has the bears living rent free in his mind. I can understand that. It was so scary watching it! I can’t imagine living through it.
Everyone is called into HQ in the middle of the night. Production announces that a family was deceived into sending false information to their survivalist. The deception didn’t come from the game, but another family in HQ. The survivalist who gave up their supplies will be able to get them in the morning.
Production didn’t like how David and Daniel tried out-twisting them. They were like:

Lyndsey’s like…”were we deceived? Who did that?” Polly’s sister and niece leave because they were too chicken to face accountability they didn’t want to get involved with the drama that didn’t concern them. David and Daniel basically admit to it by grinning. They tell Lyndsey that they weren’t the only ones who knew. But they’re not going to throw anyone else under the bus. I wish you would’ve because that would be drama! 🍿 Tanisha and Makala had nothing to do with it though. Lyndsey is upset because she could’ve given Rhoman a better message by telling him she loves him. Daniel stands by what they did and isn’t sorry they did it.

Dallas asks what they’d gain from this? Rhoman wasn’t going to lose it. Daniel thinks he would’ve lost it. I believe Dallas, when he said Rhoman wouldn’t have lost it. Haven’t they been watching this kid? Nothing gets him down. He has the best attitude out there.
David says they wanted to give Luke a leg up in the game. LUKE IS LITERALLY IN THE BEST SHAPE IN THE GAME!! I apologize for shouting, but why can’t anybody see this? Do they not know how ridiculous that sounds? Luke has faced zero adversity, whereas Rhoman has taken hit after hit. David says they might look a little bit foolish now. A little bit? You look like clowns! I wish I knew how to photoshop, so I can put clown makeup on their faces. Their plan has backfired badly.
Dallas calls them out in their hypocrisy. Daniel doubles down, by saying they did everything they could to put their person in first, and if they don’t like it, to go home. But obviously they couldn’t do what they did because production exposed them so…they got got.

Doug’s sons don’t admit to joining in on the plan. Daniel says it’s going to come out eventually, they may as well admit to it.
Bailey tells her mom, Molly, she feels terrible for not telling Lyndsey what she knew. Molly doesn’t want to get involved in the gossip and conniving. Since when? This is brand new information for me. Weren’t they practically giddy when they heard the plan and laughing?

Bailey’s afraid they’ll be associated with David and Daniel because of it. It’s too late…everybody knows you’re working together! You know what I think? I think it’s suspicious how you’re trying to distance yourselves now, all of a sudden. Hmmm… 🧐

Doug’s sons eventually grow a pair and decide to meet Lyndsey and Dallas out by the fire pit. They confess they knew, and were in on the plan. It happened at the time when they weren’t happy with Lyndsey and Dallas for lying to them during the memory survival trial. You remember…when they ended up with socks, instead of a tarp? Alec begins to cry and says he’d be very hot if that was his son. They’re both sorry it happened.
Lyndsey and Dallas think it’s unreal. They sat on it for days and didn’t say anything. You just don’t really know people, especially when money is on the line.
Rhoman gets told about his family being deceived, and is told to grab his fire making tools from the crate. He knew it! He wonders who his family trusted that they shouldn’t have? Tanisha and Dallas wonder what you gain from doing all of that? Nothing.

Lyndsey confronts Molly and Bailey about what they knew about the clue. Molly tells her they told them it was a fake clue, but they didn’t know what it said until it came up on the big screen. Molly says she looked over at David and Daniel and was furious. “I mean, furious.” Sure, Jan. 🙄 Bailey starts to cry and apologizes for that happening. I noticed Molly didn’t really look Lyndsey in the eye when she told this story. I seem to recall how giddy they were when they were told about it.
In HQ, they’re shown their survivalist’s health status. Luke is moderate. Polly is moderate. RJ is elevated.
Doug is severe. His sons are worried about him. He’s not sure how much he has it in him to continue on. Doug asks to be extracted. His sons oblige after a lot of debating with themselves. Doug always taught them to never give up.

It’s time for a survival trial! They have two minutes to line up into order of their choosing, which is important. They will each pick an island or supplies in order, then go in reverse order to grab what they didn’t grab the first time. The survivalists will only have the supplies they entered the game with, and whatever supplies their loved ones pick in HQ. They will be banished to these islands for the rest of the game. (They want this competition to end rather quickly, don’t they?)

There’s four islands to choose from. Desolation Island, Shoal Island, Echo Island and Dead Man’s Island. They each have their pros and cons, but mostly cons. Rhoman’s family chooses to send him to Echo Island. RJ’s family chooses Shoal Island. Polly’s chooses Desolation Island. And by default, Luke’s family ends up with Dead Man’s Island.
In reverse order, Luke’s family grabs the most supplies; water bottle, match, and knife. Polly’s family chooses a water bottle and knife. RJ’s family apologizes and then chooses the last water bottle. Rhoman won’t be receiving any supplies. But wait! Makala and Tanisha decide to use their Intercept Card to take another survivalist’s supplies to give to RJ. They decide to intercept Luke’s supplies. RJ will have two water bottles, a match and a knife. Luke will have nothing.

I don’t think Makala and Tanisha should’ve taken any supplies, since they knew they were using the intercept card, and left the water bottle for Rhoman instead, but that’s just me. 🤷🏼♀️ Now Lyndsey and Dallas are side-eyeing them.
Once they’re on their islands, the survivalists make themselves at home. It’s obvious that Luke is facing the greatest challenge. No supplies on an island with one shrub and one tree. The wind literally blew the camera over. In a shocking and unexpected twist, Luke’s brothers decide to extract him after Luke said how he’s never been more alone in his life. Let me make myself clear…Luke never asked to be extracted! He was as surprised as we were. His brothers didn’t like seeing him feeling so alone. Or, so they said.
I think they were just running away, with their tail between their legs. They know it’s thanks to them and their plan, that put the target on Luke, and now they’re feeling guilty for putting Luke into this position. He was playing a great game before this. The others still didn’t see him as the threat he is.

Everyone says their goodbyes, and now we’re down to three survivalists heading into the finale!
The episode ends with Polly trying to warm up in the sun, but it’s so windy, she’s very cold. Why doesn’t she find a tree to hide under? Rhoman wonders if anything has happened elsewhere. Lyndsey says he doesn’t know the half of it.
The previews show their suffering isn’t over yet! Who will win the $250,000? We’ll find out next week on Extracted!
