Greetings everyone! It’s that time of week where we find out what those survivors are doing in Fiji. This past week has flown by! It’s hard to believe we’re on episode five of Survivor 50! This episode is titled, “Open Wounds”. Since we have ninety minutes to go through, we have a lot to cover—let’s get to it, shall we?
As usual, if you haven’t watched the episode yet and don’t want to be spoiled—don’t look below! I’ll be posting about what happened in the episode.

Previously on Survivor, Mike was blindsided and voted out. He wasn’t alone in being out of the loop. Angelina and Ozzy were blindsided as well. Off screen, I guess Mike hasn’t talked to Christian since. Neither has Angelina. Mike didn’t even know about Christian’s baby. Just a little bit of gossip that’s going around online. 🤭

Anyways, back at Vatu camp, Ozzy is freaking out because Mike got voted out and being blindsided about it. Christian wonders if he reminds Ozzy of Cochran, who did the same thing to Ozzy in the past. Did he rip open a wound? Ozzy admits he would have blown up the plan if he had known. So they were right to keep him out of the loop. Needless to say, Christian is Ozzy’s new target now.
The next day Ozzy (after some meditation) and Christian apologized to each other and made up. Stephenie wants to work with Ozzy. She’s the only one who knows he has an idol and he knows that. They can choose who they want to work with, either Angelina or Emily and Christian.
Over at Cila, Jonathan is wondering who to vote out first. He wants to keep the original Kalo members (Jonathan, Charlie, Kamilla and Dee) together. It’s really out of Cirie, Rick and RizGod. He thinks RizGod is in it to win it. He doesn’t want that.
Jonathan thinks Rick is the only one he can get close to out of Rick, Cirie and Rizo. Jonathan and Rick are walking off alone to fill water jugs when Jonathan passes gas.💨 Rick asks if he sat on a duck? He didn’t know ducks lived out there. 🤣🤣🤣

Cila discusses who they should vote out first? Charlie’s down to vote out RizGod first (shocker). Dee, however, is hesitant. She wants to work with RizGod. In fact, she wants him to join her, Kamilla and Cirie. RizGod is down for it, of course. He worked with the girls during Survivor 49. He tells Dee about the Billie Eilish idol, who’s incredulous.
We shift over to Kalo. Coach tells Joe he’s his number one. He wants them two and Colby to go to the end together. In fact he comes up with nicknames for them. Joe is the Stone Bell. Coach is the Tide Walker. Colby is the Oakbound Warrior. There is some sort of mythology or story behind these names, but I tuned out. I hate bro alliances with a passion, so I’m surprised I even caught their nicknames. One thing is for sure, and that’s this trio needs to be split up ASAP!

Aubry wants to work with Coach. She knows he’s in charge over at Kalo. She knows she’s Genevieve’s number one target, so she’s trying to get numbers on her side.
Over at Vatu, Charlie still can’t get over how RizGod didn’t vote for his number one to win. This is another open wound that’s been ripped wide open. He wakes RizGod up to ask him who else he’s told about the Billie Eilish idol. (I would be mad too, if someone woke me up to ask me that.) RizGod says it’s just him and Dee. Charlie confesses he told Jonathan, because Jonathan was going around asking about it. RizGod knows that’s false. He decides to put Operation Bad Blood (in honour of Charlie’s favourite artist, Taylor Swift) into action. It’s to get Charlie out of the game. I think this is the funniest Survivor beef ever. 🤣 Both of them are so immature and petty.

At the immunity challenge, they find out only the winning tribe will win immunity. The other two tribes will go to tribal council. It’s about time for a double!
The immunity challenge involves swimming to a tower, climbing up it to grab down four bags full of coconuts. Once they get four bags, they have to empty them to find four keys. These unlock a grappling hook, which they then have to grab a bag with five sandbags. They have to toss the sandbags onto five different levels, way up high.

Kalo wins immunity, but it was close between them and Cila. Both Cila and Vatu will be going to tribal council.

Fun Fact: according to @amikebloomtype.bsky.social
With such an early merge on #Survivor50, Christian, Emily, and Ozzy join a rarified group of players who have attended Tribal Council in every premerge episode. The group includes Denise, Bobby Jon, and the very person sitting alongside them in Stephenie.
I think Stephenie is the curse! They need to vote her out! Unfortunately, I think she’s in one of the best positions on Vatu.

Cila is back at camp, RizGod puts his Operation Bad Blood into motion. He lays it on thick with Kamilla, He tells her how Kyle told him to play with Kamilla, if he meets her in the game. He really liked Kyle. Yada, yada, yada. Blah, blah, blah. He tells her about the Billie Eilish idol. She’s not sure if she should believe him, because Kyle barely got to play. I mean…he laid it on a little bit too thick. I’d be suspicious that he’s lying. 🤷🏼♀️

Charlie is also putting a plan into motion to get RizGod out. He tells Kamilla about the Billie Eilish idol too. RizGod beat him by this much. Kamilla’s the swing vote and could go either way. Her power. 💪🏻
Over at Vatu Stephenie, Ozzy, Emily and Christian agree to vote Angelina out. It’s the easiest vote to make. They’re going to tell Angelina to vote out Stephenie. Ozzy doesn’t trust Christian. He asks for Christian to give him his Shot In The Dark to prove his trust. Christian knows that’s what Ozzy’s doing. Maybe he will…maybe he won’t?

Ozzy tells Emily he wants to work with her, not Christian. He wants to vote Christian out that night. After their convo, Emily goes right to Christian and tells him. Christian thinks Ozzy’s a big baby. That’s not how you play Survivor! But…Christian decides to give Ozzy his Shot In The Dark to appease him.
Meanwhile, RizGod tells Cirie about his Billie Eilish idol. (Who doesn’t know about his idol at this point?) She knows the old school way of playing, was to not share too much info with people. As a ‘thank you’ (and testament to her social game) she tells RizGod about her extra vote and he’s the only one who knows.

RizGod is living his Survivor dream. He and Cirie get ‘married’ and plan on going to the end together. They swear they’ll be loyal and honest with each other.
RizGod tells everyone in Cila about what a legend he is because of what happened in Survivor 49. But since nobody has seen it yet, they don’t know what to believe. RizGod is a legend in his own mind. I think the only thing that’s going for him, is that he’s willing to work with women and they really don’t know him. He is really entertaining though.
Kamilla is basically the swing vote. She decides who stays or goes on Cila. She is playing the game RizGod thinks he’s playing.

Vatu is first to tribal. Stephenie says it’s harder to say goodbye, and there’s fewer and fewer people. Ozzy comments on how he, Emily and Christian have gone to every single tribal this season so far.
Jeff decides that he should do impressions of Colby, Christian and Jonathan. I’m not sure if he’s auditioning for a talent show or what…? It’s funny, but also cringe too. I’m not sure if the players were kissing his ass or really enjoying it, but they need to stop encouraging it.

They vote. Angelina gets voted out. Her story in Survivor goes full circle when she gives Christian her jacket to keep warm. Which is bittersweet.

Cila arrives at tribal. For everyone except Cirie and Rick, it’s their first time at tribal this season. They grabbed their torches and lit them.
Discussion involves RizGod and the pros and cons of playing in back to back seasons, where nobody knows who you are and whether or not you’re telling the truth. He hasn’t watched his season yet. He may think he’s a good player, but he won’t really know until he watches his season back.
In their goodbye messages, RizGod uses a bunch of Taylor Swift songs to say goodbye to Charlie. At least, I think they were all Taylor Swift songs..? Rizo is more of a fan than I am and it’s only because I’m old. (I grew up and listened to ‘80’s music.) In Charlie’s goodbye message, he says that he was better off not knowing Rizo betrayed his number one.

In a surprising vote to some (Jonathan, Rick and Charlie), Charlie is voted out four to three. As his torch is being snuffed, Charlie tells Jeff, “Teardrops On My Guitar” and leaves. Operation Bad Blood was a success!

I’m saddened to see these two go…hopefully they’re able to “Shake It Off”. It’s a travesty they really didn’t show Angelina’s reaction to Mike being voted out. They focused on Ozzy instead. Which is weird, considering Angelina is much closer to Mike than anyone else on the show.
I think it’ll be interesting to see how Cila goes from here. Did Cirie let Rick know about the vote? They were aligned with each other first. He didn’t seem as surprised as Charlie and Jonathan were. I don’t understand this willingness to work with RizGod. He’s entertaining, but his cockiness is too much for me. He must not show that side of himself to them.
