Extracted: Breaking Points And Power Plays

Greetings everyone! First off, my apologies for last week. I didn’t know Extracted was going to be preempted—due to baseball. 🤦🏼‍♀️ At least I was able to catch up on some other things (watching, reading and writing, obviously) in the meantime. 😁

With that being said, let’s recap the seventh episode of Extracted On FOX! The episode is titled, “Breaking Points And Power Plays”!

There is a lot that happens. The survivalists are definitely reaching their breaking points.

As usual, I speak in spoiler font, so if you don’t want to know—don’t read below!

The episode ends where the last one left off. I know it’s been a couple of weeks, but the survivalists were suffering through a torrential downpour, in almost freezing temperatures. It looked really miserable.

In HQ, Daniel (Luke’s brother) was telling David (the other brother) that a number of people were asking to be extracted, but when they woke up, they found it to be false and everyone had survived the night. 🤭 I take so much pleasure when Daniel and David don’t get their way and/or are disappointed. They’re those villains you love to hate, but at least they own it.

The survivalists are complaining about how cold, wet and hungry they are. But none of them want to let their loved ones down.

Back at HQ, it’s time for a supply drop! The families have to line up in order from strongest to weakest! The weakest would be first into the supply room. They only have a few minutes to decide.

As usual, Daniel and David are trying to keep from being last into the supply room, and I’m like…Luke’s literally the strongest survivalist out there, except for Polly and Rhoman. Who do they think they’re fooling? 🙄

Daniel wants to be where Makala and Tanisha are, meaning in the weakest position, and threatens to not let anyone get anything, if they don’t get to the front of the line. He does know this is a social game, right? When Makala calls him out on it, and calls him nasty, he tells her to learn to shut up. Makala says, “who do you think you are?” Skyler tries to tell her he’s just trying to rage bait her. They’re right. I fell for it too, because I’m still feeling rage, no matter how many times I watch it. Daniel can fuck all the way off.

Time runs out. Except…they were lined up in the wrong order. Rhoman’s family ends up going first. And RJ’s family, thinking they were first, are now last. Daniel takes pleasure in the fact Makala gets what she deserves. I just want to do this to him. STFU, he’s lucky I wasn’t playing this game because I would get nasty.

In the supply room, they have to move an egg to an another survivalist’s, but they have to break an egg if they do. Once an egg is cracked, that player is out. The survivalist with the most eggs receives bacon too.

Polly and Luke are the only ones who received eggs, with Polly receiving five eggs, to Luke’s four. Polly will receive the bacon too. Daniel and David think this will put a target on Polly, instead of Luke.

The lack of strategy astounds me. This is very hard for me to say, because Daniel and David are so rage inducing, but they seem to be the only ones playing to win. I can respect that at least.

It’s heartbreaking, as we watch the other survivalists open empty crates.

After opening the empty crate, Amey is finding it very hard mentally to carry on. She can handle the physical, but not the mental. She tells her father in Vietnamese that she wants to go home. He goes to find Amey’s husband, Skyler, to tell him what she told him. They decide to extract her. I liked Amey! She always had a positive attitude, and I loved her bubbling personality. When she is reunited with her family, even the rest in HQ are feeling emotional. I’m sad to see her go. She should be very proud of herself.

Later on it starts to rain again. The leaves on the trees are starting to change colour. As someone who lives in Canada, I’m guessing they filmed this in September. At least that’s when the nights get cooler and the leaves start changing where I live. I’ve actually gotten snow in September before, so anything goes in that month!

It’s time for another survival trial! Each team will go into the supply room and choose two crates. If they match, their loved one gets that item. If they don’t, they have to wait their turn and pick again. Think of the matching card game, Concentration, where you’re picking pairs, but instead of cards, they’re crates. Other families can lie to you about what’s in the crates. The families decide it’s easier to remember if they number the crates.

Everyone goes in, then they share what they saw. I think all, except for Lyndsey and Dallas told the truth, which is weird, because I thought Daniel and David would lie for sure.

I don’t think Lyndsey meant to, but she told Doug’s sons the wrong number to match for a tarp. Doug’s sons realize Rhoman’s family aren’t to be trusted. Dallas (Rhoman’s brother) knew it was the wrong crate and didn’t say anything. He wants Rhoman to have the tarp. Doug ends up with only socks, while Rhoman’s family gets the tarp. Lyndsey announces to the room that she’s sorry, she didn’t do it on purpose. She’s not a villain. It’s on them if they think she is.

Production announces to HQ, David and Daniel who chose the ❓ crate, now get to take anyone else’s crate, as a reward for taking a risk. Daniel rushes over and takes the tarp Lyndsey and Dallas have. Now they don’t have anything to give to Rhoman. Dallas tells her she played right into their hands. Doug’s sons say that’s instant karma.

Dallas says he wanted Rhoman to get the tarp, basically contradicting everything Lyndsey had just said. She is devastated when Dallas doesn’t back her up. He tells her they have to start playing the game. She needs her son to hug and support her and leaves to go cry. Makala goes to check in on her to make sure she’s okay.

I must be too much of a gamer, because I totally get where Dallas is coming from. I think Lyndsey is naive, and thinks of the best in people. I don’t understand why Doug’s sons say Dallas shouldn’t have admitted he knew, or how it ruins Lyndsey’s apology. They’re not the same person! Dallas isn’t sorry and Lyndsey is. Both things can be true. I’m puzzled by the mixup to begin with. Was Lyndsey nervous, her mind go blank or what?

Their loved ones receive their crates. Everyone (except Rhoman and Doug) are happy with their supplies. Doug gives his sons shit for only giving him socks. Luke doesn’t even need the tarp, and figures he’ll just add it to his bedding. TF? That would piss me off if I was either Doug’s or Rhoman’s families. Why can’t they see Luke is the strongest one out there?

Lyndsey and Dallas have a talk about what happened and what they need from each other going forward.

Katie shows off her gums. Eating the chicken noodle soup the day before hasn’t helped with her gums at all. They’re actually getting worse. Her sisters discuss whether or not they should extract her. Carly is worried that if they extract her, and it turns out to be an easy fix, they will have extracted her for nothing.

Katie’s sisters decide to extract her, much to Katie’s surprise. I think Emily was wrong when she thought Katie wanted to go, but was too scared to say anything. She was literally in the red zone, so her sisters thought it would be better to be safe than sorry.

As someone who has suffered with gum disease in the past, I think Katie already had it, but the conditions she’s been living in the wild with has only exacerbated it. My reasoning is this: Why hasn’t this happened to any of the other survivalists? Shouldn’t this be happening to everyone? They’re all starving!

From enemies to…friends? Luke’s brothers and Doug’s sons decide to team up together to get Rhoman out. Luke’s brothers have a plan to place a hidden fake advantage that involves Morse code and a clue that Rhoman’s family would send out to Rhoman. The clue is: if he gives up his fire within twenty-four hours, he would receive warmth, fire and food. They think the only ones who would fall for it, would be Lyndsey and Dallas. Lyndsey, yes. Dallas, no. He’s going to see right through this. They seem to think Rhoman will have to quit after this.

Wait…why would you give up fire for fire? He already has fire. Rhoman catches fish, so he doesn’t need food. He needs a sleeping bag and tarp. His health levels are in the green. This doesn’t make any sense for Rhoman to do! I’m pretty sure Dallas is going to put his foot down and tell Lyndsey this is all bullshit. Or, at least I hope so.

Daniel and David said it’s time to take shots…bang, bang!

And that’s the end of the episode! We had two extractions and lots of drama! There’s so much to take in!
