Hello everyone! It’s time for the third episode of Survivor 50! The episode is titled, “Did You Vote For A Swap?” As usual tribe swaps mean chaos! We have a lot to cover, so let’s get to it, shall we?
Spoilers exist from here on out! If you haven’t watched the episode yet, and don’t want to be spoiled…don’t look below!

The third episode begins with a brief recap of Rick and Christian pulling off Operation: Fake Idol (I made that up), coming back to camp incredulous their heist had worked. Rick compares Christian’s acting skills to those of Charlie Chaplin.

Christian says his son, Michael is going to see this one day and say, “My dad can do a heist. He can commit grand larceny. I want to do that someday too, dad.”
I like this strategically, entertaining duo. They make me laugh and their ideas are so creative and entertaining. So far, they’re in a great spot in the game, especially because they’re aligned with Cirie.
They receive tree mail. It’s time for a tribe swap!

In preparation for this, Christian comes up with a plan to have Rick say he found the Billie Eilish boomerang idol and gave it to Aubry, instead of himself. Rick knows Aubry, whereas Christian doesn’t know her. Rick’s been known to find idols in the past. Christian thinks this will protect their four with Emily and Cirie. Christian also doesn’t want to be known as an idol finder.

Before the swap, they manage to tell Cirie about the idol and that Aubry has it. Cirie realizes they really are a four for them to trust her with that info. But when they tried to tell Emily, Ozzy interrupted them, then she’s talking to Joe, so she’s clueless about it going into the swap. (This is important for what happens later.)

They arrive at the tribe swap. Dee’s and Kamilla’s reactions (in particular) to seeing Savannah was voted out at tribal are pretty spectacular. (I only got Kamilla’s reaction though, but Dee’s is similar.)
Jeff starts rapping, and I wished he’d stop. He raps that the fans want there to be a tribe swap. Really? I don’t remember voting for that one. But I’ll go along with it for now—until I see how these new tribes shake up.

Christian whispers in Emily’s ear about the idol and how Aubry has it, right in the middle of the tribe swap. Emily’s like;

She’s naturally pissed because that’s something he should’ve told her beforehand and not in the middle of a tribe swap, in front of everyone else.
The players grab their new buffs and meet their new tribe members. The new tribes now look like this:

The new tribes arrive at their new camps. Those who don’t know each other are getting to know each other now.

At Kalo, it’s not too surprising to see Coach, Colby and Joe bonding over their need to play with honour and integrity. 🙄 Joe really likes this tribe of core values.

Coach says if there wasn’t a tribe swap, and if they had gone to tribal, Chrissy would’ve gone home. He doesn’t want that, so he decides to mansplain to Chrissy by telling her she talks too much. This, of course, makes her cry. Nice one, Coach. 🥴 She vents to Genevieve and Aubry about how people don’t like her and why does she put herself through this?

Chrissy tells us how she’s high risk for breast and ovarian cancers, so she had her breasts and ovaries removed. And going through all of that didn’t make her feel like she does now. She does feel that she can change her game for the better now that she’s aware of this, and doesn’t seem mad at Coach. I, however, would feel resentful, but that’s just me.
The new Cila tribe members are impressed there’s a shelter and a fire going at camp, even though they were a losing tribe without flint. They’re even more impressed the fire was lit by glasses and the sun.

Cirie doesn’t like having to start all over again, especially after all the work she put in. She’s really impressed with RizGod. 🤭 (Sarcasm.) She kind of rolls her eyes. I had to laugh at her facial expressions when she’s saying RizGod because I know she’s remembering Cory from BB25 (they barely got along and he’d overshare I guess is the best way to describe it). To be honest, I’m surprised she knows Rizo’s self-appointed nickname.
RizGod tells Cirie he met her at a casting call when he was eighteen years old. Of course, she doesn’t remember him because she meets so many people.

Dee loves Cirie but her best friend told her to get rid of Cirie ASAP. Jonathan agrees. If Cirie makes the merge, they’re in trouble.
I picked Cirie to win the season because she’s due. Five times. Fiftieth season. It’s time. 🙏🏻🤞🏻So I hope they don’t get their way, but I definitely agree with them. She’s dangerous. Look at what she did in that first tribal when she was the reason why they were there.
Over at Vatu, Mike realizes he’s the only former Kalo, but it doesn’t really matter because Angelina and Christian were both on David vs Goliath with Mike, and he knows Ozzy because he was a manager at a restaurant he frequented.

Fun fact: did you know Angelina had a cameo in The White Lotus? They show a clip later on in the episode.
Q tells Ozzy the idol he received is a boomerang idol and Genevieve found it and sent it to him. Emily doesn’t know if she can trust Christian. She has good vibes from Q, and knows Ozzy is close to Q because of the night they spent together in exile. She tells them Christian told her during the tribe swap that Aubry has an idol. She wants Q and Ozzy to trust her.
Q’s happy Emily served him up something to eat. Q tells Stephenie what he found out and tells her they can trust Ozzy. Emily, they need her vote. If they can get rid of Angelina, then they’re good.
Emily talks to Angelina and feels a genuine connection with her. She tells her that Q and Stephenie are planning on voting her out. Angelina is shocked. Emily then apologizes to Christian and tells him she made a terrible mistake. She told Ozzy and Q about Aubry’s idol. Christian is upset, but figures he can use this to keep Emily close to him, Mike and Angelina. They have the numbers to run the tribe.
Back at Kalo, Genevieve pats herself on her back for having an improved social game. Her target is Aubry so she starts spreading the word about Aubry with Joe, Chrissy and anyone else who would listen. But Tiffany likes Aubry and wants to work with her. Tiffany sees this crack, so she’s going to spread it into a canyon. She tells Aubry how Genevieve told her she doesn’t trust Aubry. This earns Tiffany, Aubry’s trust. They’re going to try to get Genevieve out.
We’re back to Cila, where RizGod asks the most awkward inducing question…do Charlie and Maria talk anymore? Charlie says they haven’t since finale. RizGod spills the tea about the boomerang idol and how Ozzy has it to Charlie.

There’s something bothering Charlie about RizGod. He said his number one was in the final three and he didn’t vote for her. That pissed Charlie off, understandably. RizGod says his vote didn’t cost Sophi the win, whereas Maria’s did. Charlie doesn’t want RizGod anywhere near a jury seat and wants him out of there. Please tell this to Cirie, she’ll make it happen. Tell her RizGod wants her out. 🤭
I imagine Charlie now knows that Savannah was RizGod’s number one ally and not Sophi, since Survivor 49 has aired. I wonder how Charlie feels now?
It’s time for the immunity challenge! Each tribe will have one person guiding their tribe, who are blindfolded and tied into pairs, through an obstacle course in order to find three rings. Once they have all three rings, the caller will direct one of the blindfolded pairs into unlocking and solving a puzzle with a picture of a fire on it. The first tribe wins immunity and four chickens. The second tribe wins immunity and one chicken. The losing tribe goes to tribal and loses their flint.

Kamilla calls for Cila. Chrissy calls for Kalo. Christian calls for Vatu.
Blindfold challenges kill me because they’re just an injury waiting to happen. In fact, both Rizo and Colby came really close to suffering head injuries.
Cila comes in first for the first time this season! Kalo comes in second! Vatu is going to tribal!
Before tribal, Vatu discusses who to vote for. Mike has Angelina and Christian from David vs Goliath. They just need one more vote. He thinks if they can get Emily to vote with them, they’ll have the numbers.

At first, they wanted to vote out Stephenie, but Mike thinks this is the time to vote out Q. Especially after Q literally asks Mike to vote for him. Q thinks this will protect Stephenie, and they’ll have the votes to vote Angelina out.
Emily is the swing vote and doesn’t know what she wants to do. What if her gut is wrong? Ozzy doesn’t want to vote Q out and still wants to vote out Angelina.
Q tells Mike he has an extra vote. Q realizes he just gave Mike a bigger reason to get him out instead of Stephenie.
At tribal, Jeff asks what the impact of having the fans involved has made on the game? Stephenie says the uncertainty makes it harder to play and the more you play the harder it is. Jeff starts talking about how the game is easier when you’re at home eating snacks and watching it on TV. Jeff starts naming different snacks, and the tribe pleads with him to stop.
Mike says the highs are because of the lows and makes you appreciate them more. Christian says there’s death in this game as well as rebirth, then apologizes for stepping over Mike’s metaphor. Mike tells him he’s stepped before, he’ll step again. 🤣

After some more discussion about playing the game and how everybody will be at tribal eventually…it’s time to vote, except for Q, who doesn’t have a vote.

The votes are read and Q is voted out. Stephenie and Q were blindsided by it.

I’m sad to see Q go. He’s an entertaining player. I love some of his funny phrases too. I think they should’ve voted Stephenie out, but I understand it. If someone literally tells you to vote for them, who could resist that?
It looks like next week they’re going to be slaying dragons over at Cila. Dracarys. Mother’s there at least.
