Survivor: Therapy Carousel

Happy Survivor Day to those who celebrate! 🍻 Hope you’ve had a great week! It may be a week late, but it’s time to recap an another episode of Survivor 50! Just in time to refresh your memory before tonight’s episode!

The second episode is titled, “Therapy Carousel” and I feel like we’re going to need it after last week’s episode.

As usual, if you haven’t watched the episode yet and don’t want to know what happens…don’t go any further! Spoilers exist from here on out!

The episode begins with Kyle’s departure from Vatu. As you may recall, he was medi-vac’d—due to tearing his Achilles tendon.

Vatu watch him leave with Jeff with tears in their eyes. Genevieve and Q in particular are saddened to see him go because he was working closely with them. They wonder what will happen to their games now.

Christian: Please don’t look…I 💩 my pants!

Over at Cila, Joe and Christian are talking and then Christian pauses in mid-sentence. Joe wonders why until Christian leaves and he sees the state of his ass. Christian has literally shat his pants and tells the cameras not to follow him. Talk about embarrassing! It’s funny, but it’s not? It shouldn’t be a big deal because everybody poops. 💩 But regardless, Joe has a great laugh over it, as do I.

It’s time for a reward challenge! Everyone, especially Kamilla, are shocked by Kyle being pulled from the game. Kamilla says through tears, that’s it’s so early in the game and they’ve only competed in one immunity challenge.

Talk moves on to how physically demanding the fight for supplies was and how close both Coach and Ozzy were to getting injured themselves. Not shocked these two made it about themselves. 🙄 If you looked up egotistical in the dictionary, it’d have both of their pictures in it.

The reward challenge is a swimming challenge where they go one at a time, gathering rings, in which they’ll have to hook three rings on three different pegs in a ring toss type of game.

Aubry’s form kills me. 🤣

Cila and Kalo come in first and second. Both tribes win comforts for their camps like hammocks but Kalo receives smaller ones.

At Vatu, Aubry is having troubles adapting to being back in the game. She’s not bonding with others like she did the last time she played. Genevieve notices Aubry carries her backpack with her everywhere she goes. She thinks Aubry is hiding an immunity idol in her bag.

The entire tribe teams up to go through Aubrey’s bag. Colby acts as lookout, while Stephenie distracts Aubry, and Genevieve goes through her bag.

I had to laugh when they find nothing.

Over at Kalo, Coach is fishing with Jonathan and gets a muscle cramp. It’s so bad, he can’t swim and has to be rescued by a boat. Back on the beach he gets Krissy to massage his leg. GMAFB! Can’t they see this is an act? I’m with Mike, who is trying not to laugh, but is pretty good at faking concern.

Literally me.

Krissy has found her role as the tribe mother in camp. Dee thinks Krissy is trying too hard, and it’s too much for many of them. Charlie says what Krissy wants is completely different from what he wants.

Meanwhile, Savannah is asking Rick how much trouble she’s in with Cila. Rick tells her, the story she told was kind of unbelievable. He again asks her if she received anything on her journey and again she lies, saying she didn’t. She then tells the viewers she wants to be a loyal player this season, but she hasn’t found “her person”. Her person (Rizo) is literally on Vatu, but okay.

Ozzy wants to pitch an alliance with Joe, Rick and Savannah. Rick’s core alliance is with Christian and Emily though. Rick doesn’t want to play with Joe because Joe wants to play with honour and integrity, which aren’t very fun. He doesn’t want to work around Joe’s principles.

Cirie, Christian and Rick discuss how to work around Joe. Christian suggests they have a schedule set on somebody watching Joe and getting him involved in convos. Christian wants to call this “a Joe-cation”. 🤣

Christian’s alone, thinking about the Joe situation, when he finds the Billie Eilish boomerang idol. It works the exact same as Genevieve’s. He gives it to Aubry, who begins to cry. I love how this idol was given to her after they searched her bag. 🤭 Since there’s been two Billie Eilish boomerang idols found at two different camps…I wonder if there’s another one over at Kalo yet to be found and given out? 🤔

Going back to Rizo and Vatu…Q and Stephenie are annoyed because Rizo isn’t helping out around camp. Rizo says he’s not there to play camp. Ummm…that’s literally what this game is for the most part. He’s there to cut throats and win some money. Rizo isn’t the only one not helping out around camp either. Angelina really knows how to be a statue and just stand around and watch, instead of helping them out. When people don’t help, Q says it makes you want to vote them out.

It’s time for the immunity challenge! The tribes have to split up into pairs, one pair race into the jungle, untie a two hundred pound snake, then drag it through a bunch of obstacles, and place it on its resting place. Then the next pair goes. After they’ve collected three snakes, three players work together to guide a ball along a snake track until the ball falls into the correct hole. The first two tribes win immunity. The last tribe goes to tribal council.

It’s a close race but Vatu and Kalo both win immunity and Cila is going back to tribal council.

Back at the Cila camp, talk about who to vote out revolves around Ozzy, Joe and Savannah. Cirie goes to work making sure her ally, Ozzy doesn’t go home. Her target is set on Savannah because she won. (I knew Savannah telling them would come back to bite her.) Cirie tells Ozzy what she’s doing is to protect him. He then gives her (yes, gives her) his extra vote! I knew Ozzy wasn’t a smart player, but come on!

Cirie says in the five years she’s played, she’s never had an advantage in the game. Thanks Ozzy!

Joe asks Savannah what they were talking about the other day when she was talking to Rick and Ozzy? She tells him about how Ozzy wants to form an alliance with them (Rick, Joe and Savannah). Joe doesn’t understand why he didn’t tell him that? Joe is suffering PTSD from his first season when Kyle and Kamilla backstabbed him.

Welcome to Survivor!

Rick is finding it very difficult to work with Joe. It’s just his way (trustworthy game) or the highway and that you are allowed to lie and backstab in the game.

Joe asks Christian who he wants to vote out, but Christian doesn’t want to discuss it in camp. Christian thinks Joe is the person causing the most havoc around camp. He might even vote out Rick! Christian isn’t sure how close Joe is with Savannah.

Christian rocking Joe in a hammock.

Christian begins a therapy carousel by rocking Joe in the hammock. He’s almost like a Joe whisperer. These hammock scenes are killing me! I had forgotten how hilarious Christian is.

Cirie (finding out about the strain between Rick and Joe) sees this as an opportunity to get the target off Ozzy’s back and on to Joe’s. She tells Emily and Savannah how she thinks it might be easier to just vote out Joe. Savannah sees through Cirie and knows it’s just to protect Ozzy.

Savannah tells Rick about what Cirie’s doing (Emily’s also there) by trying to get Joe out, she’s trying to protect Ozzy. And that is your biggest mistake, Savannah. You voiced aloud how smart you are and now Cirie will hear of this and get you out instead.

Emily thinks Ozzy and Cirie are working together and she’s leaning towards voting Ozzy out. But Joe’s not doing anything to help himself either.

Christian tells Rick about his Billie Eilish idol and how he gave it to Aubry. Rick is happy for him.

At tribal council, Joe brings up his argument with Rick after the challenge. They worked it out, but it may have affected the mood. Talk about an understatement! Not sure if it’s all worked out either. Rick says Joe and he are alike in many ways like physique 🤣 and stubbornness 🫖. Everybody laughs, including Jeff.

Jeff asks Joe if he’s concerned the tribe might vote him out because of this argument. Joe says of course he’s worried. He’s just trying to own it and move on. Cirie says the only thing they can do is trust your gut. Ozzy says the hardest thing to do is sift through the information and feelings they’re feeling. He confesses he let his frustrations get to him and so he raised his voice during the challenge. It created some anxiety in him and he hopes he lives to see one more day.

Savannah says last season she learned to be more vulnerable after putting up walls. This season she’s found herself opening up more and she’s made more bonds with people. I think the jury questions asking her what she knew about other people in the game on season 49 really hit home. She’s made progress! Woohoo!

Jeff wonders what they’re going to base their votes on? Christian says they’re going to base them on solidarity, security and cohesiveness. When there’s more uncertainty, the more you seek safety.

The votes are cast and read. By an unanimous decision…Savannah is voted out. She thanks Jeff for everything and her torch is snuffed.

While Savannah’s walking out, Rick’s digging into his bag. After Jeff tells them to return to camp, Christian trips and falls, while Rick puts a fake immunity idol behind a stone block. It’s the perfect example of misdirection. After Christian gets back up and they ask if he’s okay, they leave, with Rick grinning evilly.

That’s the end of the episode! In the next episode, there will be a tribe swap! I’m not going to spoil who’s in which tribe just yet. I’ll wait until the next episode airs, but it looks very interesting.

What were your thoughts? Hope you enjoy tonight’s episode! Hopefully I’ll be able to recap it sooner than this one was. Please feel free to comment below and don’t forget to like and subscribe!
