The Traitors US: A Queen Never Comes Off Her Throne

It’s another Friday or whatever day it is wherever you are. You know what that means…that’s right, another episode of The Traitors US is up! This episode is titled, “A Queen Never Comes Off Her Throne”. We’re already on episode eight! We’re three quarters of the way through the fourth season and things are starting to really heat up!

As per usual…this post is written in spoiler font! If you haven’t watched the episode yet and don’t want to know…don’t scroll!

We begin right where we ended with the traitors up in the turret facing off against each other. Rob says to Candiace, want me to explain myself? And she says, yes, I’d like for you to. Rob feels bad as a person, but as a player, Lisa had to go. Candiace didn’t think there was enough evidence to vote for Lisa. Rob says, but there was for me?

Alan joins them, saying there’s a lot of tension up in the turret. Since Lisa got banished, they have to decide whether or not they should recruit or murder. They decide to murder. Their shortlist is; Stephen, Colton and Natalie. Rob let’s Candiace decide who they should murder, knowing full well, it’ll put suspicions on her and not him.

The next morning at breakfast, they wonder if somebody got recruited. Talk turns to Candiace and her vote at the round table the night before. Candiace explains how she didn’t think there was enough evidence to vote for Lisa and Natalie convinced her not to, so she threw away her vote. Maura asks, but Rob? That doesn’t make sense! Soon, we find out Colton got murdered! Hallelujah! 🙌🏻

Rob is so traumatized by Colton’s murder, he drops a fork! Yes, I am serious! This will be important later. It’s a sad day for their bromance. Colton was so popular the faithfuls are mourning him like he actually died.

Rob says the reason why he let Candiace decide to murder Colton was because he knew Colton told a number of people about his suspicions of Candiace. His murder will lead back to her.

Alan comes in wearing a suit that looks like it was made with the same fabric my inlaws had on their upholstered couches back in the ’90’s. I think the paint brushes in his lapel pocket are a nice touch. He tells them he doesn’t think he needs to tell them to paint a picture about the mission that day.

While waiting for the mission, Candiace’s name is thrown around a lot. Meanwhile, Candiace is planting seeds about the quiet people. Someone like Rob perhaps? Did they notice how Rob was flustered at breakfast? He dropped a fork! He isn’t the type of person to be flustered.

Mission time! It’s the infamous-imitate-the-painting-into-hilarious-poses challenge! (I have no idea what to call it.) They have to split up into two teams of four, and one team of three. The team of three (Rob, Kristen and Mark) go to the archives, where the paintings are. They will be the only ones able to get the shield. Candiace tried getting Johnny to go into the room for the chance at a shield, but Rob insisted and everybody caved (as usual). 🙄 The other two teams are split into the red team and the green team. Tara, Natalie, Dorinda and Maura were on the red team. Candiace, Stephen, Eric and Johnny were on the green team. Each will be imitating a pose based on the description of a painting on a plaque. Then, they take a picture of that pose. The team in the archives have to guess, then find the painting the other teams are reenacting. For every correct pose, they will receive $3,000.

Cue hilarious reenactments. I never thought I’d see any of these people in these kind of poses. Alan steals a line from Claudia (The Traitors UK) about seeing this at a party once. Were they at the same party? After they complete the mission, they’ve raised $12,000 and now their prize pot is worth $150,800! Kristen won the shield. She found it hidden behind a painting.

They return to the castle and Johnny gives Candiace a heads up that her name is being mentioned around the castle because of her vote at the last round table. Stephen tells her Colton was floating her name around. Candiace tells him she thinks Rob was puppeteering Colton. Rob interrupts them, and after Stephen leaves, she confronts him about what he’s been doing. Rob lies. Candiace tells Rob that if she’s banished, she’s bringing up his name. He’s a snake, not a traitor. They’re each going to do what they’re going to do.

I love traitor on traitor violence! I’m not sure if you saw what I did, but Rob is a terrible liar, with so many tells. Like…I would’ve suspected him a long time ago if I were a faithful. He isn’t good when confronted either. You can’t fool someone who’s been a devoted people watcher since the time I creeped my uncle out by staring at him from my highchair when I was only a toddler. (It’s no wonder I eventually became a BB live feeder.)

At the round table, Stephen takes some heat from Johnny and Dorinda. Natalie is shocked to find out a number of them had come into the last round table wanting to banish her, with Tara being the ringleader. But most of the heat is put onto Candiace for her vote at the last roundtable and why Rob and not Natalie? Candiace brings up Rob’s name and mentions how she thinks it’s suspicious how Rob dropped his fork at breakfast and how fidgety he was after finding out Colton was murdered. She says the faithfuls need to look at the quiet, unassuming ones. Which is true for finding serial killers too.

Unfortunately, nothing she says convinces the faithfuls to vote for anyone else but her. It was unanimous. Even her closest friend, Johnny voted against her. Candiace is banished and reveals she’s a traitor. The faithfuls are so happy! They’ve gotten rid of two traitors in a row! Woohoo! They are so good!

After the round table is over, Johnny says he can’t believe he was so close to someone who ended up being a traitor. What Johnny doesn’t know is Rob is planting seeds against Johnny, who is his next target. He brings Johnny’s name up because of how Candiace wanted Johnny to have a shield and how hard he’s taking Candiace’s banishment. Rob, please…you’re still mourning Colton. You may as well be wearing a veil and dressed in all black, you miss him so much. 🙄

Even though Candiace tried getting Rob’s name out there, Kristen doesn’t believe he could be a traitor because he’s such a sweet man. He could never. Kristen, I had so many hopes for you! Those are the men you have to watch out for the most! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Rob’s alone in the turret, enjoying his alone time. Finally, he has peace and quiet. He’s in full control of what happens now. I’m not sure if you took this the same way that I did…but I took it as if he couldn’t get his way before because the housewives were so insistent. Ummm…excuse me? You could’ve told the housewives what you wanted to do.

Alan joins him in the turret. He’s to recruit a new traitor. If that person refuses, they will die. If the person accepts, they will come back to the turret and murder as usual. Rob has four options; Johnny, Stephen, Mark and Eric. Hmmm…interesting…all men. Nothing to see here folks!

This is Johnny’s handwriting.

Eric is given a parchment to meet the traitor in a secret meeting at the stone steps. Eric recognizes the writing…it’s Johnny. (I literally spit out my coffee.) Eric says this with so much conviction. Bless. He meets Rob (at this point he thinks it’s Johnny) at the stone steps. The episode ends with Eric’s shocked face and it’s epic!

Wow, this episode was chef’s kiss. From the murder of Colton (thank god). To the traitor on traitor violence between Candiace and Rob. And ending with the epic reaction of clueless Eric… How does this show keep topping itself week after week?
