Another week…another episode of The Traitors US! We’re already on episode seven titled, “The Black Banquet” — which sounds so ominous.
A lot happens — so I better get right into it.
As usual, if you haven’t watched the episode yet, and don’t want to be spoiled…don’t read any further. There’s spoilers ahead!

The episode begins with everyone arriving at the black banquet dressed in their best.

They all, quite frankly, served. I thought they dressed absolutely fabulously.
As you may remember, Lisa is wearing the cursed amulet and has to get someone to touch it, then that person will be murdered. She says she accomplished it within five minutes. We see her with Yam Yam, Kristen, and Natalie, so that’s the shortlist.
Lisa’s fellow traitors, Rob and Candiace don’t know who’s been murdered, but are glad because it gives them plausible deniability.
They sit down to eat. Toasting each other and saying how much they’ve enjoyed this experience. They’re so glad they’ve met each other. Blah, blah, blah.

Alan arrives and tells them a story. A long, long time ago…there was a black dinner held by the Scottish king, James II. He invited a noble clan for a party. They ate and drank and had a marvellous time…until just before dessert, when they were served their own demise.

Tonight, this fate has repeated itself…one of them is cursed by the traitors, and in plain sight. But there are two antidotes! If they were cursed and they take the antidote, they will be saved! But if they don’t…they will be murdered. Now let’s discuss who needs the antidote!
Kristen, Tara and Natalie each think they need it the most. Tara and Natalie literally ended up fighting over one of the antidotes, but Natalie ends up being the one who drinks it. Unfortunately, the cursed player isn’t Natalie, it’s…Yam Yam!

Yam Yam is physically ushered out of the dinner, yelling out Lisa’s name for kissing him on the cheek. (She kissed other people in greeting too. Just saying…)

The next morning at breakfast, the three traitors have it out over Rob’s vote for Lisa. Rob feels like the housewives are ganging up on him. Where would he get an idea like that from?
He should’ve thought of that before casting his vote against Lisa last week. Does he not know who these women are? I’m not upset about traitor on traitor violence because I’ve seen traitors turn on each other in much harsher ways before. I think I’m upset by the lack of communication and respect on Rob’s part towards the women.
Candiace wants them to talk it out. Lisa wants Candiace and Rob (but mostly Rob) to help take the heat off her.
After everyone arrives, Alan comes in and tells them the mission will be monumental. I think I know where they’re going. 🤭
While they wait for the mission to start, talk revolves around Natalie and her insistence on drinking the antidote. Natalie slips, and says “we killed one. We murdered one,” to Tara and Lisa, who are shocked. Lisa says she’s going to use this to her advantage.

Mission time! They arrive at the Fyrish Monument. You may know it from The Traitors UK. Its’ history is somewhere on Watch. Read. Write. Or, you can Google it.
They have to carry rocks of gold up the mountain, along the way there are chances to receive more. They’re each given 500 in gold to start. When they reach the top of the mountain near the monument, they put the gold rocks they’ve collected into chests with their names on. Or, they can choose to put the gold into someone else’s chest. The six players with the most gold rocks will face off against each other to receive a dagger.

Whoever wins the dagger, will have two votes they can cast at the round table. They can only use it once in the next four round tables.
They carry their backpacks up the mountain and manage to collect $17,800 for the prize pot.
On the way up, the housewives struggle up the mountain (relatable). Rob and Colton have a moment alone where they call the plan to bring Natalie up at the round table dumb. Rob assures Colton, Maura will vote out Lisa.
Not surprisingly, the players in the top six are; Colton, Eric, Mark, Stephen, Natalie and Rob. Rob has the most gold rocks so he gets to pick from one of the others, who are each given a slate with either an X or a dagger on it. Rob has to guess which player has the dagger. If he guesses correctly, he gets the dagger.

He asks each person three questions, except for Colton, who he only asks two, hmmm…interesting. I wonder if any of the other players noticed? Anyways, he does this to see if he can tell if they’re lying or not. He guesses Natalie had the dagger, and guesses correctly. IMO, she didn’t hide it very well. Anyone with eyes could tell she had it. So, don’t let it go to your head, Rob. You’re not that special.
Rob has the dagger and can now use it to cast two votes at one of the next four round tables. When the six of them get back to the castle, they vow not to tell the others which one of them has the dagger.
Later on at the round table, Lisa brings up Natalie talking about murdering and asks why she fought so hard for the antidote? Natalie says she’s the last gamer left, so she has a huge target on her back.

Many of them bring up Yam Yam and how he was so adamant it was Lisa on his way out. Why would he do that if it wasn’t true? Lisa air kissed him! Lisa says she air kissed others and they’re still there.
The votes are cast and read. Candiace surprises a few with her vote for Rob, including Rob. She said Natalie convinced her, and she wasn’t going to vote for Lisa, so she was just throwing a vote out there.

Lisa has the most votes against her, and is banished. Shocking nobody, she reveals she’s a traitor after she tells them how much fun this was. It’s a highlight of her life!
Later on up in the turret, we are left with our traitors giving each other looks. And that’s the end of the episode!

It looks like there’s going to be more traitor on traitor violence in the future. Nice! I’m on Team Candiace!
I’ve seen the fandom is pretty split online between the two traitors. Here’s what I think. I don’t blame Rob for getting rid of Lisa because she did have a target on her back. Was it smart to vote out Lisa, to protect your game with the faithfuls? Yes. Was it too soon? Not really. There’s been some really early traitor banishments in other seasons and countries.
Traitors don’t have to vote alike, but I think the housewives wouldn’t have been as pissed as they were — if he had given them a heads up first. He blindsided them. Sometimes it’s not the what they do, it’s the how. People may forget what happened, but they never forget how you made them feel. Remember that.

And honestly, if I were in the castle, and I saw the way Rob led the charge against Lisa, when he’s been silent at the round table since the game started…I’d be looking at him very closely. That’s unusual, suspicious behaviour.
Anyways, what did you think? Please feel free to share your thoughts below!
Until the next time… ✌🏻
