The Traitors UK: The Final

First of all, my apologies for the delay. The finale was actually on Friday night, but real life got in the way, so I guess this is better late than never (again). I posted my recap for the US one later too. Anyways, a lot happens, so let’s get to it! You’ve waited long enough.

It’s the final episode of The Traitors UK season four! It’s hard to believe how fast this season went by! Overall, I think it was a good season. I don’t know why, but I always enjoy seasons when there’s a bunch of unknowns, or as they like to call them, “civilians”.

As usual, I will be spoiling if you haven’t watched the finale yet. Although this is so late, everyone has probably watched it already. But just in case, look away now!

The beginning of episode goes through all of the past banishments and murders of the season. And what happened last episode leading up to Rachel and James picking out the chest of chance. James and Rachel open their chests and three…two…one…you can tell from James’ reaction he didn’t receive the shield and Rachel did.

James reveals he’s a faithful, much to everyone’s disappointment. Rachel certainly has lady luck on her side, doesn’t she? Rachel appreciates how Stephen really had her back. Jack regrets switching his vote, because he knows he messed up. He definitely believes Rachel is a traitor now.

Stephen admits he did think of voting for Rachel because it’d be easier for him to get to the end, everyone seems to believe he’s a faithful, and of course more money. However, he still feels loyalty towards Rachel because of the vow they made to each other at the beginning of the game. He likes how they have stuck together as traitors throughout the game.

Congratulations, they’ve made it to the final five and have made it to the final!

The next morning at breakfast, they’re reminiscent of each of their experiences throughout the season and appreciative of everything they’ve accomplished. Claudia informs them they have one more mission to complete, it’s going to be tough. She’s glad she’s not in their boat. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge. Hint, hint. She always makes the missions sound daunting.

The prize pot is at a total of £76, 750 now, with a chance to add more!

Stephen mentions Faraaz’s and Rachel’s names to Jade as traitors. Meanwhile, Rachel is telling Faraaz she’s known and has always known since night one that Jade is a traitor. She has studied body language, don’t you know. By the FBI no less. She tells Faraaz she doesn’t trust Jade, Stephen or Jack.

Outside, Jade tells Stephen and Jack how both Rachel and Faraaz didn’t react at the round table when James revealed he was a faithful. Jack is now believing Rachel’s a traitor (again). The two traitors have a little planning session where they decide to get rid of Jade at the round table, and how Rachel’s been working on Faraaz to get Jade out. She has mentioned Stephen’s name, but don’t let anybody get into his head about it because she’s not voting for Stephen no matter what, she assures him.

It’s time for the final mission of the season! They have to take pontoon boats out to four different buoys where there’s bags of gold inside a box. They can only go when there’s green smoke coming out of the top. Then they take the gold and drive to meet Claudia within forty-five minutes. Claudia is at a dam. There, they have to climb up the dam by a ladder. They all manage to meet her in time, raising £9,000. But then, Claudia makes them an offer they can’t refuse.

She’ll give them another £10,000 on top of the £9000 if they can make it to the helicopter within five minutes. The catch is…they have to race down the side of the dam face first. Needless to say, after a lot of struggling at first, they all make it in time. They added £19,000 to the prize pot!

Back at the castle, everyone thinks Rachel and Jade are traitors. Jack says Rachel tried to guilt trip everyone before the vote, that’s something a traitor would do. Jade thinks Faraaz is a traitor. She didn’t like how he changed his vote. Rachel’s keeping her plans a secret because she doesn’t trust anyone. Faraaz says the only person he trusts is Jack. Jack still thinks Rachel’s a traitor.

At the final round table, Claudia tells them the final prize pot is £95,750 and explains that if there’s a traitor still left in the game, the traitor wins it all. The faithfuls will split the money.

Faraaz begins the discussion by talking to Jade about his suspicions about her being a traitor. Jade tells him she thinks he’s a traitor.

Talk switches to how Rachel might be a traitor. Rachel says if she was a traitor, would she do this and would she do that? Jack asks her about how she made them feel guilty at the round table the night before. She says finding Fiona was the only thing she has done in the game, she didn’t intend to make anybody feel guilty. She mentions how she has no one left in the game. She wants them to look at the person they’re closest to in the game.

They cast their votes. Jack voted for Rachel. Rachel voted for Jade. Jade voted Faraaz. Faraaz votes for Jade. Stephen votes for Jade. Jade is banished, as planned by the traitors.

Stephen feels bad about voting for Jade. Jack wonders that if Stephen has the ability to vote out Jade, who he was close to all season…could he be a traitor?

Rachel and Stephen have a short last minute strategy session. They’re going to vote out Faraaz, then Jack. Rachel can see how torn up Stephen is, which worries her. She hopes he sticks to the plan.

Claudia interviews each player before going into the end game, which I don’t remember seeing before, but maybe I forgot? I don’t have a great memory.

If one person votes to banish, they will vote to banish. They all chose to banish. Stephen and Rachel stick to their plan and vote out Faraaz. The next round, they all vote to banish again. Stephen and Rachel vote out Jack.

That’s it…the game’s over! THE TRAITORS WIN!!! Woohoo!!!

It’s the first time in The Traitors UK history when two traitors manage to get to the end and win! I kind of loved Stephen’s and Rachel’s loyalty to each other, and the way they worked together as a team throughout the season.

Claudia tells them they each won £47,875!

Claudia says it best;

You were traitors who were faithful to each other.

And with that, it’s the perfect ending to a great season with fun missions and lots of interesting people!

Until the next time… ✌🏻
