The Traitors US: Planning A Coup

The good news? It’s time for another episode of The Traitors US! The bad news is…we’re only going to receive one episode per week, instead of multiple. Boooo…

This episode is titled, “Planning A Coup”! Hmmm…

This episode was really hard for me to write because it was triggering for me. That’s why it’s taken longer to write than usual. My apologies anyways.

As usual, I speak in spoiler-ese…so if you haven’t watched the episode and/or don’t want to know…don’t look below!

The episode begins with everyone arriving at breakfast group by group. We eventually find out there was no murder the night before because the faithfuls resisted the urge to grab a shield. Yay for the faithfuls I guess, but you’d think a traitor would at least try for one, to guarantee a murder.

The traitors were obviously disappointed, especially Lisa. She was really looking forward to slitting someone’s throat. Gee, I wonder who? Does she need someone to help hold him down?

Alan arrives. His cryptic message about the mission is there will be plenty of those around later. Whatever that means. Lisa figures out it has to do with crypts aka coffins. Candiace says it sounds like an indoor mission. Girl, yassss, now you’re talking. But I think you need to be more specific about what you mean by being indoors. 😬

Johnny wants to get a group of eight people together to swing any vote at the round table. They are; Tara, Mark, Kristen, Maura, Eric, Stephen, Candice and Rob. Plus himself obviously.

Colton tells Natalie about his suspicions about Lisa. In walks Lisa, with Candiace and Dorinda. Colton mocks how the housewives stick together, then asks Lisa where her shades are? Then he smiles this smile that I find both patronizing and condescending, as if he knows it all.

I’m on Team Lisa on this one. Colton is literally taunting her, begging to get banished or murdered. This side of Colton is the side who stalked Cassie and put a tracker on her car. It’s very ugly.

I actually hope and pray the housewives get revenge. My hatred for Colton is right up there. I could continue in my ranting about him, but I don’t want to pay him any more attention than he already receives.

It’s time for the mission and it’s our favourite cabin in the woods! Just like on The Traitors UK, they get cryptic clues they need to figure out and two people of their choosing will have thirty seconds to race to the graves with the correct answer. For every correct answer, they will receive $3000, with a maximum of $18,000 to be earned. There are two shields buried in one grave but they wont earn any money.

When they see the inside of the cabin, Ron wonders what is up with Alan’s mind? He’s been there too long. Nah, that’s just a personality trait of The Traitors’ hosts. They’re all evilly twisted like that.

Again, just like The Traitors UK, the players are scared by things jumping out at them inside the cabin. This cabin is the cause of nightmares. They managed to add $15,000 to the prize pot, because they got one wrong. (Candiace and Tara left before they heard the right answer.) Yam Yam wanted to go for a shield but they had agreed before the mission started, that person would be banished.

The best part was Dorinda’s reactions. 🤣

After the mission the Operation: Let’s Banish Colton group fills Rob in on their plan. Of course, he doesn’t want to because they’re bros, but he really likes Ron and doesn’t want to vote him out either.

Colton pulls Lisa aside and suggests…

Lisa plays dumb of course. But Colton just sits there blinking with that dumb look on his face. It’s that condescending, patronizing one I mentioned earlier, and then he blinks. Does he have something wrong with his eyes?

It’s time for the round table. Ron points out to Colton that he’s taken more heat than Colton has but Colton’s been wrong more times than he has. Ron says Colton’s been wrong about Porsha, Tiffany and Michael. But because nobody liked Michael, and they liked Porsha, he’s taken more heat. He doesn’t think that’s fair.

This shuts Colton up. Yes, thank you Ron! Others hold Colton accountable for the Tiffany vote. They don’t like how he rushed it and how it had to happen that night.

Poor Ron knows he’s being banished, because it would give them clarity. He says his goodbyes to each person around the table. The more he does this, the more they begin to think Ron isn’t a traitor. But they need another name.

Colton brings up Lisa, and how the housewives never go against another housewife. The first vote never sat well with him, because she voted out a housewife. They go back and forth. They accuse each other of being traitors.

Rob takes awhile to vote, but ends up betraying his fellow traitor, Lisa. Ron ends up being banished, revealing he’s a faithful.

Alan announces they are having a banquet later that night.

Candiace and Lisa are both pissed about Rob’s vote. He tries to explain to the viewers that he’s close to both Colton and Ron. But to vote for a fellow traitor when she’s staying in the game and a housewife? That’s pretty reckless. He kind of wishes he was a faithful because he liked both Ron and Colton. Rob knows it’s about to be bad for Robby Bobby. (He called himself this, not me.)

Lisa tells Colton to not expect her to be a housewife because she was Lisa Rinna before housewives and she’s Lisa Rinna after. Colton announces to the room that if there are any traitors in the room, to murder him now because he’ll be going after every shield which will make it harder to get him out. And you know this will happen too because…altogether now…we can’t have nice things!

We find out the traitors have to murder in plain sight at the banquet by getting someone to touch the cursed amulet, in front of everyone. Lisa’s planning on wearing it to the banquet, but we don’t know who they’re planning to murder.

The three traitors manage to get alone time, where Candiace and Lisa are quick to criticize Rob’s vote. He says it’d look too suspicious, and there’s too much game left. Candiace says, but it was one vote away.

The episode ends with everyone getting ready for the banquet.

I feel like we’re missing something in this episode. There’s some unanswered questions I have…like, I thought the group was voting for Colton, then during the round table they were confused about Ron and not thinking he’s a traitor. Weren’t they voting Colton anyways? What difference does it make?

Anyways, what are your thoughts? Please feel free to share them below! Also, I have set up a widget for subscribing to Watch. Read. Write. Just put in your email, confirm it and you’ll always know when I put up a new post! You don’t need to create a WordPress account either.

Until the next time… ✌🏻
